3. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience and analyze usage:
- Essential Storage: The address and session token are mirrored in tab-scoped sessionStorage to support inbox tools and reloads.
- Saved inbox metadata: Inbox addresses, labels, creation/expiry times and unread counts are saved in browser localStorage. These records can remain after browser expiry until cleared or replaced; they contain no mailbox token or message body.
- Usage Protection: A signed visitor cookie lasts 30 days. Shared counters use hashed visitor/IP identifiers to limit inbox creation and provider requests. Counter windows are separate from inbox expiry.
- Time Zone: A
client_tzcookie stores your browser's time zone for 30 days. It is used only for abuse prevention (setting usage limits) and is not used for advertising. - Analytics Storage: Local visitor and session identifiers help us understand site usage; site events are stored in our database.
- Advertising Cookies: Used to display relevant ads (Google AdSense)
- Affiliate Cookies: Track referrals to partner services we recommend

- Usage Analytics: Site event records have no automatic deletion schedule in the current application. Contact support about deletion requests.
- Browser Attribution: Affiliate touchpoints use a 30-day attribution window. Other local identifiers remain until browser storage is cleared; third-party cookie periods depend on the partner.
